Joseph "Joe" Jeter brings a wealth of experience to his clients. Joe has practiced in Hays, Kansas since his graduation from the KU School of Law in 1971. His practice ranges widely, but he has extensively practiced in several areas including estate planning, corporate and business law, probate, oil and gas law and real estate law.
Born and raised in western Kansas, Joe joined the firm and practiced with his father, Norman, after earning his law degree. Rural Kansas is important to Joe, and he has been involved in many organizations, including the the local Rotary Club, Smoky Hill Country Club of Hays and the Hadley Foundation (all as past president). He served as a director for Farmers Mutual Insurance Company, the Kansas Golf Association, Developmental Services of Northwest Kansas, Inc., and Eagle Communications, as well as serving as a Trustee for the Robert E. and Patricia A. Schmidt Foundation and as Chairman of the Board for Bank of Hays.
Joe is a member and past president of the Ellis County Bar Association, is a member of the Kansas Bar Association and past president of KBA's Oil & Gas Section, and is a past member of the civil code committee of the Kansas Judicial Council. He was Municipal Court Judge for the City of Hays from 1974 to 1983.
Joe and his wife, Cheryl, have two daughters and five grandchildren.
